Tour 1 out of 5 for the rest of the year has been completed! We got home two days ago, and I've been doing nothing except trying to get rid of this annoying cold I've had for the past week. Sinus probems and ear blockage are not exactly what I had in mind for our week off in LA. Grrr. I'm definitely planning on being back up to 100% by the time we fly out for our shows in Australia and South East Asia next week- it's going to be fun and I'm determined not to miss out thanks to some stupid cold. There will be more tour updates to follow then- in the meantime, there's some more tour photos on my Flickr page for your perusal. I'll be catching up with you all again in a week's time, from the other side of the world! Woo hoo!

The Christina Perri US Spring tour continues to absolutely slay, at least as far as the shows and my personal enjoyement of them is concerned. This really has been the best little adventure with the best folks, I'm almst pre-emptively sad that this time next week we'll be home. Not for long, luckily. Oh hey, what have we so far.... An absolutely killing first US show in Asheville, NC; followed by a great night at Norfolk, VA's Norva, where the backstage area comes with its own steam room and hot tub; a steamy show at what can only be described as a haunted community center in Pittsburgh; and last but not least, last night's set at NYC's Webster Hall, which was easily the highlight of this tour so far. The "New York show" of any tour is always kind of stressful (thank you, label peeps hovering around in the perimeter), so it was a huge relief that it went off without a hitch and was well-received by all. Tonight's multi-track recording of the Burlington show is going to be a piece of cake in comparison!

And we're off!! Holy smokes, how fun to be back on the road after what seemed like an interminable couple of months at home. I couldn't be more excited to be traveling around playing shows with my friends again. And this also means... it's time to fire up the old tour blog again. The awesome folks over at Girl Rock Nation will once again be giving my tour ramblings a home on their blog section. I'll be posting links to the entries here, and of course you can also check my ever-expanding Flickr set for more pictures from the tour. The week before going on tour is always kind of weird. My brain is already out the door and adventuring across the country, but my body is still in LA, trying to run errands, pack, and hang out with everyone I need to see before taking off. Oh, and of course all my gear has already been freighted out, so I have no instruments or music stuff ot play with at home. Oh well, Friday will come soon and we'll be on our way!

In the meantime, here's a rad, totally non-dorky little interview Christina Perri and I did for Girl Rock Nation a while back. So far back, in fact, that I still have my old stupid non-blond hair!

But seriously, I can't wait to get out of town and get this tour started already!! Aaahhh, Friday, I am waiting for you...

Rehearsals are done! Now just one short week before we head out on our US tour. That is, our US tour that we are starting off with a show in Puerto Rico, no big deal. Ha! But before that.... weekend trip to Santa Barbara to see Bon Iver at the Bowl! After seeing Miike Snow absolutely kill it at their LA show earlier this week, I'm ready for more awesome live music.

Oh my! Christina Perri has just announced her two-month tour suporting Jason Mraz! I couldn't be more excited to be heading out on the road with these two lovely people. We'll be going all over the place, and you can check all the tour dates here.

We'll be starting up rehearsals and blowing the cobwebs off later this week in preparation. In preparation for THAT, Mike and I just took the weekend off and flew to Charleston, SC to attend a friend's wedding. Charleston rules and I can't believe I hadn't been there before. The city is beautiful and has some of the best food and cocktails I've ever had. Hmmm... I'll probably try to squeeze in another quick vacation there by the end of the year :) Some photos below, and the whole set available to view on my Flickr account.

Two different electronic songs given the live performance treatment- I don't usually love Dr Luke's generic dance bangers, but this acoustic performance of Marina & The Diamonds' Primadonna is super pretty. And Miike Snow can do no wrong in my eyes, so this live BBC session is obviously a winner.

Recreational activities

I just spent a lovely weekend in Santa Barbara with my sister and some family friends. Getting out of LA for a couple of days every once in a while is a really refreshing change, to say the least. The entire trip basically consisted of eating, walks on the beach, some light shopping, and local farmers markets- no complaints from me. ... and now, back to work! This week is full of boring admin, but I'm also making time for some co-writes, noodling around on Ableton Live, not to mention I get to go see the Islands show tomorrow! Yessssss. 'K bye!
